A maoist was killed in an encounter that broke out between District Reserve Guards (DRG) and maoists in a forest area under Gadiras PS area in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The killed maoist has been identified as Kamlesh.

The encounter took place in the forests of Borapara in Mankapal. Kamlesh is a member of the Naxalites’ Malangir Area Committee. Recently, a reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced on him.

Bastar IG, P. Sundarraj, reviewed the situation and said that a search operation is going on in the area.
